Blog Post GrinninBarrettBand “Beach Boys 50th, anniversary”

No one else Kicks Ass like these guys when it comes to Killer Vocals and harmonies, they absolutely rule, as compared to a find running locomotive they know how shine and take it full speed ahead. Age is of the mind limited, when it comes to the Beach Boys it’s in what think and how you carry out.

That’s Why God Made the Radio is

Music is a state of mind with no age restrictions

Jerrie Thill (1917-2010). She’s iconic here in Los Angeles, where she performed every Sunday at a local club right into her 90s. I’m sad to report Jerrie just passed away in spring of 2010.

Born in Dubuque, Iowa, Jerrie began beating the skins at age 16. By 18, she made a living at it. Jerrie led her own all-girl  bands during the height of the swing era. As a member of Peggy Gilbert’s Dixie Bells (a group of women musicians over 60), she entered the television age, appearing on the The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Golden Girls and more.

I could say more, but it would spoil the video “Hey Jerrie” (below), her astonishing life told in song and photo clips. Allee Willis (who wrote the Friends theme and my favorite Earth, Wind & Fire song) made it a year before Jerrie passed. It’ll have you grinning from ear to ear!

Here Without You- 3 Doors Down analysis?

By Bill Barrett On October 25, 2011 NO COMMENTS

I need a little help analyzing this song for english class. I need to annotate it for literary elements and meaning (theme) and create a thesis.

along with the music video and how it symbolizes the lyrics and meaning of the song.

A hundred days have made me older
Since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lies have made me colder
And I don’t think I can look at this the same
But all the miles that separate
Disappear now when I’m dreaming of your face

I’m here without you baby
But you’re still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby
But you’re still with me in my dreams
And tonight it’s only you and me

The miles just keep rollin’
As the people leave their way to say hello
I’ve heard this life is overrated
But I hope that it gets better as we go

I’m here without

When its over………………(take on a 3 doors down tune)?

By Bill Barrett On October 21, 2011 1 COMMENT

I awoke to the screams of the drug addicted. Smoke and falling plaster in the hallways of my mind. The acrid smells of waste. Waste of life ,waste of relationships(You and Me Sune) wastes of time and wastes of effort.
Tell me,you must be happy with yourself.
Thinking your so much better than me now,
Where will you turn to when there is no one there for you
and you cant turn to me…
When its over where will you hide from the demons you have unleased, where will you run?

Fog rises from the ground as I move into the field. Carefully taking my steps, planning my moves as if every one will be my last. Do you r memories haunt your dreams? Do they simply have a mind of their own. Tell me what the emptyness brings? Im out here searching….
Im lost I cant find you, you were the one single thing that I could count

On July, 19 of this year 2011, 3 Doors Down released their filth album, Time of My Life. The album sold over 59,000 copies and reached #3 on the Billboard Charts in the first week of its release.

Kryptonite, was the band’s first major single on the The Better Life album and was their first studio album released on February 8, 2000.

From there, the band achieved national fame.

This is a band with a lot talent, great vocals/ harmonies and musicianship with a driving energy force which puts them in a league of their own.

Is it the, The End Of The World because REM call it quits after 30 years of Great Music!

By Bill Barrett On September 30, 2011 NO COMMENTS

Absolutely not, think about for a moment, with Over 30 years plus as a band ,these guys have earned the right to take a break from the music industry.

As one of the first popular alternative rock bands, R.E.M. gained early attention due to Buck’s ringing, arpeggiated guitar style and Stipe’s unclear vocals. R.E.M. released its first single, "Radio Free Europe", in 1981 on the independent record label Hib-Tone.
With over Top 10  Hits including:
Losing My Religion
What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?
Everybody Hurts
The One I Love
The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite
Nightswimming
Man On The Moon
Me In Honey
It’s The End Of The World As We Know It
So. Central Rain
In In 2007, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The band just recently released, Collapse Into Now,  with new songs, including,
